My kindergartners fingerpainted with blue paint and left it to dry. In their next art class students added the snowmen, stamping white paint with tiny sponges with clothespin handles. Then they used giant Q-tips to paint the faces, buttons, hats, scarves, earmuffs, etc.
These are so cute!! I did a snowman lesson today with Kinders that I will post tomorrow. They just love snowmen!
ReplyDeleteFinger painting!!! Kindergarteners so need to do that developmentally. How long is your art class for kinders? I want to do that maybe in the spring but I'm afraid I won't have enough time to wash all the hands. How long does it take you? I love the snow people by the way they are characters!
ReplyDeleteAll my classes are 40 minutes. I fought for it when they tried 30 minutes for kinders and they didn't learn to clean up properly. I have five tables, and set up two with layers of newspaper for fingerpainting, the others just with crayons and paper. No chairs at the fingerpaint tables. I put sponges in the sink for handwashing and it actually moves pretty quickly. I just wish I knew how to keep fingerpaint paper from getting so crinkly and wrinkled. Any ideas, anyone?
