If you are in the Facebook art teachers group, you've already seen these photos. I've decided that being a little old blue-haired lady no longer needs to have the negative connotation that it used to. Wonder what color I'll do next! I'm wishing this color wasn't going to fade, but unfortunately it will. I just washed it for the first time and I already see a bit of a difference. :(
Second - the results of my giveaway, which somehow I never posted. Two winners were randomly selected from the entries, and were contacted and received necklaces in the mail. Down the road I may pick a few more! Here's who won: longtime blog reader Christie now has the necklace pictured on the left. Christie's terrific blog is called Fine Lines. Another regular blog reader Janel, who blogs at Teaching van Gogh...Lend Me an Ear? received the necklace on the right.
Third - my Pacon projects! In a post earlier this month (you can find it here), I told you how I got involved designing a project for Pacon using a new type of black paper, and in typical fashion I came up with three lessons rather than one. And they are now all posted on the Pacon website!!! Here are direct links to all three of them:
And fourth - a little family share - my son's rock band, The Functionals, played a 'gig' at the Hard Rock Cafe in Boston last weekend. His bandmates are all long-time friends of his, and we know them/their girlfriends/their families all quite well. So it was fun to see all of the families show up to this gig, as well as their many co-workers who came to listen and show their support as well. My son is the bass player, on the right.
My son's mostly female co-workers at Corinthian Events all showed up in these shirts they had made before leaving the office on Friday (really, just Sharpie on white duct tape, stuck on shirts). They gave these to me and my husband to model (photo below). Don't worry, my husband is NOT assaulting me in this photo, he's just turned awkwardly to show the back of his shirt. I think it is so adorable that my son's co-workers like him so much!
That's it for now. Hopefully you won't have to wait so long for another post from me. Thanks for being patient!
