A little Adirondack wildlife

I discovered this grass snake slithering through the kindling in the outdoor barbeque pit. He went to this rock to model for my photos, then flicked his red tongue at me and *POOF!* he disappeared.

Water life - momma ducky and her babes, and my own water baby.

A gaggle of geese!

Some not-so-wild life...

Lovely night, lovely morning, lovely day.

  3. Happy Memorial DAY! What a beautiful day on the lake. . . and just think you might even get to be out there when the leaves change in all natures glory! How many more weeks are you all in school? We don't get out here till the 18th but I'm hearing of a few bloggers starting summer now:)

    1. I've still got almost 4 weeks - but I know it is going to go really quickly. So much to do, and so little time to do it all...

  4. I wish I had your energy, Phyl. I was done on Friday and I have become a worthless recluse all weekend. Sleeping, eating, watchhing DVD's and snuggling with my furbabies. I have all of this free time and I'm so used to structured time. Send me some of your energy, okay? :)Pat

PS. Your lake getaway looks idylic!

    1. It was a crazy weekend, Pat. I THOUGHT that I would relax at the camp, but only one day was actually spent on the beach chair on the dock with suntan lotion and a book. I had a little time in the kayak, but then it got really busy, because my son invited his two best friends, who were also his high school bandmates, both of their girlfriends (also close friends of our son since both couples have been dating basically forever), and their families (who we have also known for many years) to come to the lake for the day on Sunday (with our permission and our blessing). Add to them my stepdaughter and her two young rambunctious boys, and lots of food, sunshine, and beverages, and it was a wacky day, but a whole lot of fun having all these wonderful people join us. I adore my son AND all his friends and it was great having the time with the kids (doesn't matter how old they are; they will still always be the kids to me).
